LFW Summer Resort 2012- Day 3 – All about white!
Apologies for not updating this one earlier! We’re sure most blogs have already reported all about the Day 3 happenings to you hungry souls but the next day preparation kept us so occupied! And we are keeping the promise and are giving you our take on Day 3 anyway.
So day 2 came to a fab close and was full of colourful motifs and surprisingly day 3 was all about white! Oh so chic-pure! But most designers also played with other interesting hues. Most designers stayed true to their Indian design aesthetic and we loved that. Here are the bits we loved -
Purvi Doshi had a runway patriotic moment with tri-colored pallas and badges. We especially love the chunky-beaded tri-colored neckpieces – a must do for any summer maxi dress.
Vaishali S had some interesting cuts and drapes too. Models sashayed bare-feet and the curly haired pig tails made the collection look so simple and subtle. We like the blouse on this look teamed with a flowy floral maxi skirt for a summer trip.
Farah & Firdos on the other hand used fascinator-like head accessories. We love this green one as a corsage too.
Marg by Soumitra was very Indian street chic and yet very pure-festive. The Kolhapuri chappals were quite a change from the empire high heels. We love how simple and street stylish this one was.
After that amazing sufi act, Shruti Sancheti’s collection set us on a sublime Sufiana journey. The collection showcased a lot of sufi inspired hats and intricate prints. We heart this dress and the headpiece and are already looking for more outfits that go with it.
Krishna Mehta had the models maneuver in shades of white, black and peachy orange. Lots of florals, paisleys and sheer would sum up her collection. We are lusting after those white florals and the colorful ones – basically, we heart florals!
And while all were busy with experimenting with Indian aesthetic, Anita Dongre was busy watching a lot of Mad Men (we swear, it made us watch an episode of Mad Men online post-dinner). Her collection, ‘Waves of Joy’, boasted of a lot of tie-and-dye and brocade weaves. We also witnessed some Ikat and Chikaans. We love this black chinese collared maxi dress and lot of those other pastels!
Watch this space for more fashion week updates! We promise more on LFW 2012 Day 4 soon.
