Training at Alexander McQueen, Philip Tracey, John Galliano and Dior enriched NIFTian Prashant Verma who launched his label in 2006. Its focus on evening wear covered digital prints, chiselled construction and old school embroidery, in knits and leather.
Verma tries on several aesthetic hats, building a body of work that weaves together a narrative that extends beyond fashion and portrays the complexities of an inner battle. He came into the limelight with his autumn 2008 collection inspired by James Dean’s aggression—leather jackets, distressed jeans and a multi-textural repertoire of asymmetrical dresses.
