But there’s a catch, your real test of fashion is when you choose the right stripes according to your body (this we’ll cover some other time, too elaborate a subject it, as quite varied are the shapes found in women )

Second on the list is Graphic Prints (this should have been 1st). This one’s a complete Chart-buster when it comes to trends this season. Wear’em all, the bold graphics, the bright ones, the small animals & birds to moustaches & the Amul girls. The designers are doin’ it across the globe. You just need to be in love with prints to carry them off. Beware when you choose the bold ones though!

Who doesn’t like a day out at the beach? Swimming in the lovely sea water, relaxing by the beach while the soothing waves of moist cold air fills your heart, sipping on chilled drinks while reading your favorite author. That’s exactly what I wish I could do everyday, all my life. Only if it didn’t take a toll on my hair & skin. Yes, holidaying by the beach is totally awesome, but you got to take extra care of yourself while doing so. Here’s what you can do to take care of your skin after a day at the beach. FACE & SKIN: Clean off the dollops of sunscreen you had applied earlier and all the salty water you have been in for hours with a hydrating natural soap/shower gel and a gentle face cleanser after you are back from the beach. Do not use a drying deodorant soap. Apply a body butter after patting yourself dry post bath. Being under the sun for a long duration, specially in salty water squeezes out all the moisture from your skin. So, re-hydrate!

That brings you to the one major Do & Don’t:

DO: DRINK LOTS OF WATER TO KEEP YOUR BODY HYDRATED.

DON’T: DO NOT TOUCH THAT FACE/BODY SCRUB. NO MORE EXFOLIATION FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE. Many people think that exfoliating after a day out at the beach would help remove the tanned layer of skin. But, do your skin a favour and keep it away from more exfoliation. It has had it’s share already while you were swimming in the salty water and roaming on the sand.

FEET: Remember, when you walk on the sand for a while without your flip flops, your feet skin actually exfoliates naturally (which is great), but, after you are back from the beach, do not forget to moisturize your just-exfoliated feet.

HAIR: To keep your hair away from frizzing away after staying at the beach, remember to use a spray in hair conditioner which will act as a protected layer and help keep your hair tangle free. It’s always a better idea to use a UV protection conditioner for your hair that acts as sunscreen for your hair.

Back from the beach? Wash your hair immediately and deep condition is again before you comb it out with a wide toothed hair comb.

We spotted Monochrome Designs on the International runways, then on the Lakme Fashion Week and now on every gorgeous Bollywood Star. Spring/Summer 2013 has been a lot about MONOCHROME. Wearing monochrome is rather easier than any other trend off the runway. Its a neat style that doesn’t demand a lot of courage to pull it off. One way of wearing a saree in black and white is the classic way Deepika Padukone wears it, a beautiful light-work white saree with a gorgeous heavily embroidered black blouse. The sheer piece of art that the blouse is, takes away most of the attention in this case.

However, if you don’t wish to draw attention towards a single part of your body, we would suggest go for a black and white printed saree with bold prints. This trend is sure easy to carry, however, ensure it doesn’t end up looking boring due to lack of colour. In case your black and white saree or blouse is not enough attention-grabbing, you can always wear a monochrome with a hint of pop colour to add the missing fun element. Try wearing a pop lipcolour or throw some colours via your accessories.

Bright bold red lips had it’s moment for quite a few seasons in the recent past, and now, it’s time for ORANGE to take center stage. Warm Skin Tone: Go for yellow based oranges. Shimmers like gold, bronze or copper flecks work particularly great for an evening look.

Cool Skin Tone: Reach for red or coral based oranges. Shimmers like silver, opal or white would suit perfectly for an evening look.

Light Complexion: Look for lighter or pastel shades of orange.

Medium Complexion: Choose an orange colour that’s a shade darker than your natural lip colour. Go wild and try a vibrant bright orange, that’s just the shade for you.

Deep Complexion: Your orange lip color should be towards browner or more brick base.
